The Martian, by Andy Weir, Fiction
Mark Watney is a average man that's an engineer and a botanist...oh yeah he is also left for dead on Mars.
Well on Mars Ares 3 (the third team to reach Mars) had to abort there mission because of A destructive sandstorm, during their evacuation Mark Watney was flung away from his crew and was presumed as dead so the crew had to leave without him. The twist is that he was not dead but only incapacitated. But now he has only two choices for getting back home and if he fails there's no getting back home.
Question #9
A passage from the that amusing to me was on the top of page 15, "H*ll yeah I'm a botanist! Fear my botany powers!" I had found it quite amusing because it was supposed to revel some of the stress in the situation.
Question #8
The author doesn't give a year due to the fact that he wants the reader to find out what year it is so what he does is plant mini clues in the story....so with clues so far it's in the not so distant future because #1 Mark Watney makes a reference to the Dukes of hazard and how it's a crappy 20th century tv show.
Question #8 part 2
If the setting changes it could drastically change the story for example if The setting was changed to be on Earth it would basically be techno version of man vs wild. Also the main character Mark Watney would already be back on Eath which would make the book really, really short.
i went to this movie and it was very good and i could remember every scene after reading this post good job putting details in there
