From Amateur to A pro. He enrolled at Stanford University and played at NCAA events and Amateur events. His success came as a surprise to no one as he was predicted to be sports next great star. Tiger embraces challenges say thats what makes the gem fun for him. His swing is perfect almost down to a science. He is mentally tough as golf is much an mental sport as it is athletic. When he transitioned into being a pro golfer he won his first tournament at Sawgrass he came from 6 strokes behind and won. He wanted to be a PGA golfer and still learn a quality business education at stanford.
Question 2: The central idea talked about in this section was the fact that he was always a star, if he didnt do good at golf he still wanted to have a decent education if he ever got injured. he was winning in junior tournaments and then went on to win PGA tournaments.
Question 7: i learned that i will always need an education no matter how good i could be at golf because i could always get injured

It's the day of graduation for Q, Radar, Ben, and Lacy, but after much cyber snooping Q finds an online comment telling where Margo is. The only problem is, she's in New York and is leaving the destination at 12pm the next day. The drive will take around 23 hours, so in order to get there in time they must skip graduation and leave right away. Ben and Radar are still in their graduation gowns, with nothing underneath. After 22 hours of driving, getting in a crash, and peeing in beer bottles they get off the highway. Sometime later they see Margo's car, and soon find her in a barn writing! The book ends with Margo continuing her adventure to N.Y.C., Q was supposed to come, but he has a life, a family at home.
Q2 Does the main character change by the end of the book?
Yes, I do think Quentin has changed through out the book. Quentin started off as a very quiet boy who wouldn't like or do the things (adventures) that Margo does, but by the end of the book Q, likes the abandon minimart that MArgo has lead him to.
Q5 Is the ending satisfying?
I don't think the ending of Paper Towns was that great. It ended with Q and Margo kissing then leavin Q, back to Orlando and Margo, to finish her adventure in New York City. If i chose the ending I would have had Q= Margo finish their ending, together, like planed

"The Half Life of Molly Pierce"--Katrina Leno--Katie Roberts
Summery-
Molly and Sayer have been together for a while now, she has figured out what has been happening during her blackouts. She is now getting help, she has put everything together. Thats how she knew Lisle, that's how she met him. She still has to tell Sayer, but she doesn't want to. She is very scared go see what he to going to say. she took him to a forest near by, because she didn't want anyone to tell him before she did. By now a lot of people know what happened too her. They call her crazy because of what happened and because she didn't remember anything. Molly was scared to see if he wasn't going to want to be with her, but he was worried. He wanted to know if she was okay, she told him that she was getting help. All he needed time to let it sink in. Off course he wanted to be with her. She went to his house that night, they talked more about what happened. That night they became really close.
Questions-
I am very close to the end and cant wait to see what happens at the end.
2) I think that my main characters have changed. In the beginning of the book she was very depressed and did not like to talk to people about any of her problems, but now she wants to tell people. Over all she seem much happier and she has a boyfriend so I think that helps a little bit. Before she didn't really want anything to do with her friends. Now she loves her friends.
4) The authors theme is very serious and is showing it through the diolge of the book. She is giving a theme of mental health and many other things that just happen in a lot of peoples life.

Katniss and her friend, Peeta, had just retuned home after winning the 74th annual hunger games. Thinking that their lives will finally settle and they will be safe and sound, they are called to join a victors tour, meaning they will travel to the different districts, because of their glorious victory. Katniss and Peeta began the tour when Katniss begins to sense tension over the districts. Katniss and peeta were then called to return and fight in the 75th annual hunger games, along with many other victors from different districts. After fighting harder than they ever had before, Katniss and Peeta break through the Dome and is held hostage by president Snow.
Question One: Do the main characters change by the end of the book? Do they grow or mature? Do they learn something about themselves and about how the world works? Yes, Katniss really matured throughout the book because she learned more about how to take care of herself and defend herself and others, which also answers the second question about her maturing. And Katniss learned a lot about herself and the world because she learned her strengths and weaknesses and she learned about how selfish or giving people in our world can be.
Question Two: Is the ending satisfying? Is so, why, and if now, why not......and what would you do to change it? The ending of the book was actually pretty satisfying. Although others may disagree, I really enjoyed the way the author left her readers at a huge cliffhanger, making them wanting to read her next book I the series.

The Martian, Andy Weir, Science Fiction
In my book "The Martian" by Andy Weir, there is a mars exploration where there are 6 humans sent up to mars to research the planet, it is called the Aries III mission. On Sol. 18 there was a dust storm. During the dust store a part of their lab was destroyed, forcing them to come back to Earth. While frantically racing back to their ship to take off, back to Earth, one of their crew members, Mark Watney, was blown away by the dust storm and lost. Without him, the rest of his crew took off. On Sol. 19 6:36 AM, Watney wakes up, with a metal rod stuck in his lower abdomen. Fortunately, the metal rod saved his life..now he goes back to one of their Labs on the Aries III base and pulls it out and stitches himself back together, then goes into his room. Now he must figure out a way to contact back with Earth, figure out how to grow food on a planet that doesn't have any form of life on it, and figure out how to save his life.
sparrow hawk red part 2
Once again the title is Sparrow Hawk Red author is Ben Mikaelsen and genre is fiction. and now that i'm deeper into the story Ricky has found out that the drug cartel has a plane that Ricky thinks he can be able to fly and take to his house. he has spent allot more time roaming around mexico as a "ratero" Spanish for street rat and he is slowly developing a plan to steal the plane. the only reason he wants to take the plane is for his mom who got killed by the drug cartel. for my first question i'm doing has the book changed me and i would say that it has changed my perspective on a few things. for example i didn't think Ricky would go and almost get shot down just so he can get revenge for his mother. so many times has he almost died for revenge. and for the second question if i could ask the author anything i would ask him why is the DEA always in his business because it seems like they never leave him alone. most of the times they are at Ricky house talking and questioning his father.

Ghost Hawk By: Susan Cooper
Since Little Hawk has died a lot has changed. In the ending part of the story John has grown up. John is a white mans son. His dad was crushed by a tree and his friend shot and killed Little Hawk in spite of him trying to help. He didn't know Little Hawk was helping Jon's father as he is being crushed by this tree. As Little Hawk Dies Leaping Turtle runs as fast as he can back to his village. As he's in utterly confused and in despair he trips over a pricker bush running. It doesn't phase him as all he can think is what happened and how is he gonna explain it to Quickbird, Little Hawks sister. Upon his arrival back to the village he is greeted by Quickbird and asked where is Little Hawk? He couldn't answer. He sat down to catch his breath, and then took a deep breath to tell her what happened. After telling her she wanted to go back there to get him and bring him back. But Leaping Turtle insisted it was to late. Later that day she went after him anyway to set him free. But faintly knowing where she was heading she had to follow the blood From leaping Turtles Prickled body. As she arrived she started to cry. She couldn't take it. As she sat there she said "Fly in Peace Little Hawk". To her his spirit was set free.
Question 1: Do the characters change by the end?
Yes. Mostly all the characters grow in some sort of way. From the four boys set on the journey to manhood. To Little Hawk dying. Leaping Turtle having to witness his best friends death. What he felt the author couldn't put into words.
Question 2: Is the ending satisfying?
No. I would of liked more out of it instead of Little Hawk dying in the beginning. If he would of stayed through it to the end, even thought the author was still telling it through his eyes. I would've added more characters to the book as in more main characters. As Little Hawk died the book kinda got boring.

Gone, Lisa Mcmann, fiction, Nathan Powell
This book actually turned out to be a book I would recommend to people. It starts off slow but gets good as the story goes on. Well as you know Janie is a dream catcher. While she was in one of her dreams she found out that her dad was also a dream catcher. It really shocked me. Throughout the rest of the book Cabel and Janie kind of drifted apart and didn't talk as much which really surprised me. At one point in story Janie was about to die. She was getting choked and the squeeze was getting tighter and tighter and everyone thought it was over, but it wasn't.
5.) I thought the ending was actually pretty good I thought it wasn't gonna be the best ending on how things were being placed, but at the end it turned out to be a good ending.
6.) If I could ask anything about this book I would ask how Janie and her father got this like power of going into peoples dreams and seeing what they are. I just think its interesting on how they can do that and I want to find out how they got it.

Cover Up By John Feinstein - Ermin Alemic
The story ended up with a big twist, and something i doubted that would happen, and i was very surprised. The story wraps up with Eddie introducing Susan and Stevie to an orthopedic surgeon for the dreams who did not know anything about the "cover up", and he gives them drug tests from the players so Susan and Stevie can write a news article about the "cover up". Then Meeker goes on interviews on CBS talking about the "Cover up" that Don Meeker the owner of the dreams football team was hiding. Don Meeker starts lying about the "cover up" and tries to get away. Will Don Meeker get away with the "cover up" and the dreams team end up being successful and not getting caught using HGH, or will Don Meeker get caught and get a huge punishment by the NFL commissioners???????????
Question 5: I believe that the ending is satisfying and I would not change it at all, It ended with a big twist and it was very enjoyable reading and very unpredictable.
Question 10: One way that Stevie in the story solved a problem is that he would go from one person to another. He would Gather information from one person and go ask the people who were involved with the previous information he gathered. At the end he would have a massive amount of information and can solve a mystery, and achieve his goal.

Thirteen Reasons Why By: Jay Asher Mystery-3
Summary:
On the 9th slide from Hannah Baker it is for Clay Jensen. The tape talks about the one night at a party that they had together where they actually talked for once. The other sides talked about how she talked to he counselor about how she was feeling and all her life stories and why she had ended up killing herself in the first place was because she felt that she had no one.
Is the ending satisfying...
The ending of the book kind of left my hanging a little bit because she just left the counselor without him trying to go any help. If she would have tried getting help she could have nit wound up killing herself.
Where in time and history did this take place...
This book could have happened at anytime in history, however if i had to make a guess I would have to say around this time frame in history. This took place in your average town, but the book did not say where specifically where it took place.
Rogue, By Gina Damico, Fiction
This is the third and final book of the series, and boy did it twist things up! From beginning to end, this book had action, some humor, and romance mixed in. Death and emotion text could get you pulled right into the story. Imagine having you boyfriend die and dating a ghost? You'll have to read it to know what I mean. Zara gets what she deserves with the afterlife is crumbling beneath everyone's feet! Can Lex and her friends and her Uncle save the day? You'll just have to find out about all the death, mystery, hilarity, and sadness that comes from this twisted tale on your own.
There's some many answers you finally get in this book along with a new power Lex learns aside from Damning which can cause some sort of reset for all souls and, presumably, fix the afterlife which is falling apart. Lex and the gang, along with the knew rookies, are labeled as fugitives as the new 'mayor' of croak goes insane with power, he's already been a douche I'm not surprised, and tries to capture the group as Zara continues her rampage on the innocent. A prophecy comes true, a sad love is torn apart then reunites in the nothingness, and the Grimsphere crumbles as the Grim powers are taken, ungrimed, from all the citizens of the grim world. The last Grim, Annihilation, Damning, Love, Adventure, and Death, this has been one crazy ride ladies and gentlemen! Hope you look at the book, it's worth the try!
Anyway, Questions!;
Question #3:
The books story structure is good, sometimes there's a few flashback here and there but not many, and the characters grow with the story. We even got a glimpse at Grotton's past in one of the books. I think the view points of our usual Lex was shifted some but rarely. I think the author did this mostly to give hints in the story on the upcoming events, adding more mystery or spookiness to the plot. I like the way she used it, giving me hints but they were subtle to not confuse or irritate me.
Question #9; (WARNING SPOILERS!)
The scenes that most struck me in the book were two scenes that were both sad but solved the problem they were in. Pip, one of the two new rookies, had given his life to make his spark glow enough for the group to see in one of the training rooms they were put in to kill their targets in order to save the afterlife by destroying the portal in Necropolis. Then there's the scene at end of the book with Lex. She had gone through so much through the story and for her to just disappear at the end to 'Fix' everything, it's just sad. She had done it herself to honor Uncle Mort's words, yet I just get annoyed when I know she wanted to do the right thing and probably did it better than I imagined but I just didn't like it that way. I wanted to see Lex and Driggs with a happy ending, yes for once, and instead I get a unsolved dark mystery if they're together or not in the end!
Mocking Jay
I have read the whole book, the story is about a man named President Snow he is the antagonist of the story. Snow has a way that everyone has to live and anyone who doesn't agree gets murdered. Every year he puts 24 people ( 12 boys and 12 girls) well in the second book ( Catching Fire) a girl named Catniss Everdeen ( the main character) destroys the hunger games arena. With furry Snow goes on a killing spree and destroys Catnisses home. Catniss then leads a place called direct 13 a place that is hidden from snow to fight back against Snows laws and rules. The main characters are Catniss, Gale, Peeta, President Coin, Finnick, and a few other less important characters. Catniss is a strong women that experienced the hunger games twice and lived through them both she now leads district 13. Gale was a character from Catniss's home district and when district 12 was getting attacked he got Catniss's family to safety. Peteta was in both hunger games with Catniss, unlike Catniss he was captured at the end of Catching fire and was then saved by district 13. President Coin was a worker for the capital but then abandon them to create district 13 and protect against the capital. Finnick was in 2 hunger games like Catniss and Peeta but was introduced as a character in Catching Fire. Other characters like Johanna and Annie were captured by the capital and then saved just as Peeta was.

In the last few chapters jasper is interviewed in jail. they found a note from an unknown person saying: "under no circumstances are you to go near the dent boy". the handwriting wasn't his fathers nor his. jasper asks the police to deliver a message to his father for him that he is onto his father and that he is hunting him and using everything his father ever taught him to help his hunt. He then explains that hes never killed anyone but if he gets a hold of his father that he'll kill him. Jasper then gets a tatoo in gothic writing that says "i hunt killers"
i hunt killers, Barry lyga, Fiction

He combines forces with the towns police department and uses his knowledge he learned from his dad to help catch whoever is killing these people. He starts breaking into morgues and cemetaries to try to find something about the killer or to somehow catch him in the act of killing.
3) the books structure is very strange, the author does not explain the characters well at first but as you read you find out more and more about the characters but it takes a long time to really understand the past lives of the characters.
6) if i could ask the author of this book one question, it would be where did he get the idea to have the main character combine forces with the police because it seemed strange at first because the main character was doing things that you would normally get arrested for to catch the killer.

Mark Watney is your typical every day man who is stranded on a rusting desert that is 249 million miles away from Earth, but now he has a greater chance of survival and getting home.
Mark Watney had to travel 22 sols (1 day with a extra 40 min) to receive a broken lander which is a basically a radio and he need this to get contact with the people in NASA. The only problem is that the lander was used in a failed Mars expedition, so no one is going to be listening to it. But Mark Watney does have a small chance of someone picking up the signal and his best bets are The Deep Space Network or SETI (Search For Extra Terrestrial Intelligence). So will Mark Watney get in contact with NASA or will he perish in the rusting desert before then, read and find out.
Question #7: This story has enlighten me, the reason why is because it show that people have this characteristic to help one another. Like in the story the people in NASA spend countless hours and millions of dollars just to help one man that is 249 million miles away.
Question #10: In the story Mark Watney need to cultivate Mars. The thing is he didn't have any fruit or vegetable seed and only had a limited amount of water and had no fertilized dirt. But Mark Watney eventually cultivates Mars and he can makes enough food for 500 sols. I will never ever, ever have a problem like this but this taught me no matter how big the problem is it can always be solved, you just try a little bit harder to solve it.
Blurr, Steven James (fiction) blog post #3
Kyle begins to wonder if they should go to the graveyard to see Emily's grave, maybe they'll be more clues? The next day Daniel, Mia, Kyle and Nicole all go to the graveyard. When they encounter her grave not far in front of them was Mr. McKinney's wife's grave. At both graves they had the same flowers, coincidence? They eventually go back to Kyle's house and do background checks on Mr. McKinney and his wife's death. Kyle and Daniel feel that McKinney is the murderer and that they should check out his house for some clues. When they got there, there wasn't anything out of the ordinary until they went into his bedroom. Three cells phones covered in girly decorations. McKinney shows up at his house early asking if anyone was there. The two boys sprint out of the house as fast as they possibly can and keep running until they are out of sight. Once everything was settled they got in contact with Emily's brother, he told them one of the phones was Emily's. Later Daniel is encountered with Nicole where she thanks him for the necklace. Although he never got her one, it was the same one Emily was wearing when she died. The principal stopped them and asked for Daniel to follow him. His father and the coaches stood waiting at the gym locker. Inside they found Emily's missing lens. Daniels father asked for Daniel to follow him as the leave the school but Daniel manages to get away because he realized Nicole was missing. He went to the cave where "she" texted him to meet her. Walking through the cave he encounters Emily's killer and Nicole. Although it wasn't Mr. McKinney. The killer and Daniel get into a huge tussle until Daniel ends up getting injured and the killer flies off the edge. Nicole and Daniel were left almost unharmed and returned home safely..
Question #2 "Do the main characters change by the end...."
In a way I think they all changed in some way, kind of grew up more because of everything they encountered. I feel like they realized how easy it is for someone to just die and how short life is so the should live it to the fullest.
Question #5 "Is the ending satisfying? If so why?
I honestly thought it was very satisfying especially since it wasn't a cliff hanger. It ended leaving a message that says that people die, everyone dies so you should just live. It also showed what happened to the main characters after the murderer died before the book ended which was pretty cool.

Throw like a girl by Jean Thompson, fiction blog 3
As of right now im reading throw like a girl by Jean Thompson. Currently in the last chapters it was talking about how Melanies mom missed her husband and wanted him back. He did pass away after having a heart attack. This book is full of mysteries and her friends and mother speaks her piece about the world and womens places in it.
Question 2: Do the main characters change by the end of the book? Do they grow or mature? Do they learn something about themselves and how the world works?
-I think that the characters did change because Melanie did mature at the end and she started not to care what people thought about her and i think she learned how to not care about what people think also to kind of look past things
Question 5: Is the ending satisfying? If so, why? If not.. and how would you change it?
-I think the ending wasnt really that interesting because there was no really excitement throughout the book. If i could change it i would put a little twist at the end like have her dad actually be alive and then maybe there could be a book 2.
Dear Bully, 70 authors tell their stories
As I finish the book, I cant help but feel like I have to reach out. Although these events happened years ago and they are all in the past, I feel these authors are still damaged. Just one word can ruin a self image, and we don't realize that. It seems like when schools say "bullying will not be tolerated", I think its a lie. Sure a teacher will stop students when they see it happen, But I don't think the stop bullying campaigns need to go further. everyone Should be able to hear the other side of the story like I did in this book. I think it should be read in schools across America to stop Bullying for good.
Question 1: has the novel changed you?
yes. no questions asked. This book made me take a good look at the other side and make me want to help. Next time I see it, Ill stop it
Question 2: is the ending satisfying?
Definitely. the end shows how much little has been done and how we have to take the extra step to stop bullying

Crow planet nonfiction Lyanda lynn Haupt
Imagine its 5 on a early summer night and all of a sudden you here a shriek and on top of that more you wake up with a startle and you rush outside to see what made that awful sound. When you head out there you can barley see anything except a giant black figure fly by your head to join the other black figures fighting off something even bigger. You wonder what the #%@*$ is going on!? What you probably saw were crow parents trying to fight off an animal to defend their fledglings (babies learning how to fly). Early summer is fledgling season where you will see them leaping out of their nests, but just because they are ready to fly doesn't mean they will fly right away they will most likely flap wildly as they crash to the earth, and unlike there parents the baby birds are very curious even though very vulnerable, so the parents will stay close by until they can at least lift off the ground, and that was fledglings taking off!
Question 7 nonfiction- I have learned so much from this book I learned from how smart crows are to how they live and how they grow up I loved this book!!!!
Question 4 fiction - They main idea of this book was…CROWS! How they live how smart they are stories from funny to mysterious and how misunderstood they are.

Paper Towns By John Green Fiction
Summary- On the day of Q's graduation he left with his friends to go find Margo. They found out she was in a town that was called Agloe. They had exactly 21 hours to get there before she would leave to find another paper town. When they finally found Margo in Agloe she was supersized that they actually came. she had left Q clues to where to find her but she thought that it was going to take him longer to figure it out. Q found out that Margo used to like him when he was younger. After finding this out he wanted her to to come back home with him. If she came home she would of never been able to leave again. She also wanted Q to come with her but he wanted a future that was there. The book ends with her getting in the car crying while Q is standing there.
Question #2 Q has changed a lot by the end of the book. At the beginning of the book he was scared and didn't have many friends. But by the end he was very out going and had more friends. Also he was very confident and proud of himself. At the beginning of the book Margo is very reliant on others. Also she acts on what others do. By the end she is very independent and confident of what she can do.
Question #7 This novel has changed me about how I think about people. The book has changed my perspective about people. Everyone can be a paper person. They can be there physically, but mentally they can be lost in there thoughts. I think the book will change me because I have never thought of the term paper towns like that.

Josh Hamilton- beyond belief by Tim Keown nonfiction ... Jacob Buell
4. Some of the language the other uses in the book, allows me as the reader to understand the pain josh is going through in this stage of his life. It's not as much as the vocab, as it is more of tone in the sentences. It makes you feel depressed. This is a good way for the author to write this story, because it allows you to start to feel how Josh has felt.
7. I am not completely done with this book, but so far I have learned that depending on the people you hang with, it could effect your outcome in life. This helps me for when I get older, because I will now what some of the consequences may be if I allow myself to be around certain people too often.
Navy Seal Dogs by-Mike Ritland
Tyler Harrington
In this chapter mike is still telling about his operation and that it took over six hours to search and sweep the hole facility. Then after that was over he started to wonder if he had a dog for the operation would of it have been easier for them even though they had no causalities. So after his time in the navy he started to train dogs for the military. For mike when he trains dogs he looks for special qualities in the dog.Mike wants the dogs he trains to be a certain age to be trained and when hes done with them he wants the dogs to have courageous spirit in them.
1)The main character in this is Mike for now because its about him mostly. The information i have is that he talks about himself and the of the operation he Did in Iraq.So that's why he is the main character in this and he is a true hero for protecting his country.
2)I like mike in this because what he has done in the passed to make him a great person now.The reason why i like Mike is because he helps people and loves dogs. Also when he was done with the navy seals he went to go train dogs for the military.
Blog #3 schooled by Gordon Korman
Summary: As time went by, Cap has started to get how things work in C average middle school, there is a big long wedge in between the puny kids and the tough kids, and Hugh Winkleman was pretty much the only puny kid in the school, and Cap's only friend. Well... Cap starts to get better with his job of being class president, and Hugh is pretty much left in the shadow of Cap's popularity, which leaves Hugh furious with Cap. After that popular day at school, the school bus is driving everybody home when the bus driver starts having a heart attack, then Cap rushes to the driver's seat and starts to drive the bus! He then says "where is the nearest hospital?" But everybody is dead silent from fear, "Hospital now!" Cap yells, then Naomi, Cap's "girlfriend", rushes up to Cap and directs him to the hospital. Cap, once again, is arrested but later bailed out by Ms. Donnelly, who isn't furious with him at all. Like what was said earlier, Hugh was furious with Cap and decided to pull a prank on him, with the help of Zach Powers; they decided to put Cap in some other school's football uniform and have him enter the playing field while football practice is going on. So the prank ends up being successful, but Cap was tackled by every football player on the team, leaving him injured. Cap is then rushed to the hospital, fixed up, and everything turned out okay. A few days went by and everybody was starting to get worried about Cap because he wasn't showing up at school, then a rumor started up that Cap was dead which made everyone even more concerned because with Cap gone, that means no Halloween dance, plus Cap was the best president the class has ever had. However, even though Cap was no longer at school, the Halloween dance still went on only it was different. It was more of a memorial service to honor the life of Cap (even though he wasn't dead). At the "funeral" everybody was dressed up in tye-dye and listening to 70s music while holding up candles, that is until Cap arrived. Everybody cheered and shouted with glee but when Cap said that even though he showed up, he could no longer go to C average middle school but he did say goodbye to every student in school which made everyone rejoice again and Cap knew every students name.
Questions:
2. Does the main character change at the end? Do they learn how the world works?
Yes, towards the end of the book Cap learns about real life physical violence, advanced technology,
use of money, pizza, and the television. I think that it was a good thing that Cap learned about how messed up the world really is, because this isn't the 70s any more and if Cap never learned that, then his adult hood could have been tough and confusing.

The Running Game, by Wendelin Van Draanen-realalistic fiction
"The Running Dream" is a book that portrays strength and faith. Jessica, the main character, is on the track team for her school. She is a runner, more specifically. 400 meters... how far she ran to break her personal record of 55 seconds. Jessica is so proud of herself! While on the bus going home, a tow truck tumbled down the hill, smashing into the school bus. The truck driver, along with one other high school girl, were killed on sight. Most of the other students had cuts and bruises, but what happened to Jessica? Is she okay? Jessica personally thinks that she is going to die. The doctors amputated her right leg, from the knee-down, and she thinks that she will never be able to do anything ever again. The doctors, her mother, best friend, classmates, all say that she will be just fine. With all of the encouragement from her family, why doesn't she think that she will make it? Physical therapy is helping her legs get stronger but recovery is slow. Running is what she does. It's who she is. After this accident, Jessica is devastated. What will change that? I have yet to get to that part of the book.
QUESTION #8--When did this story take place.....
This story was written and taken place in the 21st century. This setting impacted the story because the first conflict that happens is a car crash! I know that there were cars in the 20th century but today, people are careless. They, sometimes, don't look where they are going and end up crashing. Cell phones play a huge role in today's car crashes too. Texting, talking. Everything that has to do with a cell phone while behind the wheel can cause serious damage.Anyway, if there weren't cars, then car accidents wouldn't happen. That is how I look at it. But please give me your own input on this topic.
QUESTION #9--Talk about specific passages.....
This story has already shown many different mini-events. I saw that Jessica's sister,Kaylee, loves her sister. Many siblings love their other siblings, but some don't show it as much as Kaylee does. Jessica was in the hospital. Kaylee has been dying to see her ever since the crash. I guess it was one of those "Have to see it to believe it" moments. Kaylee didn't believe her parents when they said that Jessica was alright. She also looks up to Jessica. She is her big sister.

Question #1 (Has this novel changed you?)
In my opinion, I don't think that this book changed me as a person, but it changed by point of view of things. Such as being helpful to other people really does pay off in the near future.
Question #2 (Is the ending satisfying?)
Yes I think that the ending to this book couldn't have been any better. Tim Green (The author) is just a great writer and it's one of the best endings to a book I've ever read.

Drugs & consequences The truth about prescription drugs by Basia Leonard and Jeremy Roberts
Most prescription drugs are bad especially if they are overdosed. You can not find these drugs over the counter because they are a lot more dangerous and can cause more harm to your body especially if you don't need them. When you get prescribed any type of medication it is important to read the label and follow the directions, if it says take one everyday only take one. And with some medications if you stop taking them it messes with your brain. Some of the drugs are addictive, The most addictive and overdosed drugs are antidepressants and drugs for ADD and ADHD. I know a lot of people who have been through this and they have misused prescription drugs.

The Ghetto Cowboy - Brandon Lighton
The boy met a cowboy in the city of where his dad lives. The boy found a horse and happened to be the mans horse. So the man told the boy to name the horse for him cause it did not have a name yet. The man tells the boy to ride the horse. The boy doesn't want to do it but the man forces him and tells him he's going to teach him how.
1) the central idea is that its okay to learn something new
2) if I could ask the author one thing it would be how he cams up with this idea of the book.

Paper Towns- By John Green
Margo, a mysterious high school girl runs away after spending the last night with Quentin. Margo is leaving little clues to find her or so Quentin thinks. Radar, Ben and Lacey are all Quentin and Margo's friends. They decide to help Quentin find Margo. Desperation and panic set in when the clues lead them to believe that Margo will kill herself if they don't find her soon. Margo's clues give them a time limit and if they don't race to find her it will be too late. They all go on a road trip to upstate New York and they have to speed or they wont make it there in time. Faster, faster and faster they went along the roads until they finally reached Margo.
8. Where in time or history did this story take place? This Novel takes place in modern day Orlando. Although we see Orlando as a beautiful and tropical place, Margo cannot stand it. She thinks of it as a paint chipped tourist trap. She even describes it as being so fake that they are "Paper Towns". When they kids go on a road trip to find her in upstate new York they imagine it being like New York City. But when they get to upstate New York they find it isn't anything like New York City. When they finally reach Margo and they talk to her they learn that she doesn't like life anymore here than she did in Orlando.
10. Think of one way that a person in the story solved a problem. Quentin in the novel has the problem of finding Margo. He finds Margo and solves the problem by getting friends to help him. It shows that if you have fun with friends along the way it makes things better and easier.

No Hero: The Evolution of a Navy Seal by Mark Owen, Kevin Maurer. Genre: Biography
In the 2nd half of chapter 3, the main character is about to parachute out of a plane. He gets the one minute warning, and the green light telling him to jump. On the descent, the character pulls the cord for the main chute too early, leading him into an uncontrolled spin. His only option was to cut the main chute and pull the reserve. The reserve chute opens, and the character makes it to the landing site.
Question 1. If you could ask the author one question...
If I could ask the author one question, it would most likely be, "What inspired you to write a book like this?"
Question 2. Describe the main character.
The main character is determined, brave. His whole life, he has wanted to be a Navy SEAL, and he is now. He is brave, because some of the things he does would scare me half to death.

Wonder,R.J. Palacio,Fiction
The novel had a really great ending to it.In the final parts of the book it kinda brought everyone together, because they went back to the "Pullmans" and had ice cream together. In one of the other parts of the book Auggie and one of his best friend Jack had a fight because when they went back to school Auggie stopped talking to Jack which made him feel not too good. But in the end they made up and are now friends again. But the "turning point" of the book was when the students go on a camping trip and everyone calls Auggie a freak. But then some of the kids realize that it wasn't a good decision to call him that and they apologize and his friends start to except him for who is.
Question #1-Does the novel affect your life?
Yes,I think the story affects my life because it kinda taught me that know matter what a person looks like that you should always be nice to them because you don't know what the person is feeling inside. So by being nice to them and making friends with them will make them feel good about themselves.
Question # 2-Have the characters changed?
Yes,I think the characters have changed from the beginning to now especially Auggies friends and people he goes to school with. They have changed because they now except him for who he is and dont call him a "freak".They have all changed in a positive way.

The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey, Sam Robinson
Blog #3
Summary: I had just gotten done reading the 2nd part of the book. This part of the book is about a boy named Benjamin Thomas Parish (but known as just Ben Parish in the story). The part starts out with Ben laying down on a cot, in a tent, slowly dying from the "Red Death". While laying on the cot he starts to hear odd gunfire and giant explosions, he does not know whats going on and starts to fill up with fear. A man dressed in a uniform runs into the tent and yells "there inside us". This man was taken away by another man who had come into the tent right after him. Another man picked up Ben and carried him to the basement of the big building right in Write-Patterson (the "safe camp" that I mentioned in my second blog). A nurse comes in a examines him and states that he is "clean" but very sick. He is taken to the "zombie ward" where all the people who have the "Read Death" go to be treated. Ben is put on morphine and many other drugs to try and get rid of the virus. It works and the virus is no longer detected inside of him. He is then taken to another examiner to get a tracking device placed inside the back of his neck. He then goes with the doctor (Dr. Pam) to an underground level and is brought to a room to be shown what "an Other" looks like. When he see's who it is he is shocked. The man (or whatever he is) was named Chris, he was Ben's "tent-mate". Dr. Pam orders Ben to execute Chris because its the only way to get rid of them. Ben hesitates then firmly pushes the button...
Question #5: Is the ending satisfying?
Yes, the end was satisfying because it ended with Cassie, Ben and her little brother Sammy all together sitting watching the sun rise over the horizon. This is satisfying to me because they are all together and there is no worry about being killed at any moment, they are just enjoying each others comfort and the sun rise.
Question #3: What is the structure of the story?
The author wrote this story in interlocking short stories. Each part of the book is a different characters view point of the story. This makes the story more interesting because you can see how each character feels and what each of them go through to try and survive the invasion. I think the author picked this form of writing because he knew that it would make his "audience" enjoy the book much better. Like in the first 23 or 24 chapters its all about Cassie and she mentions her little brother Sammy and a guy she liked named Ben Parish, and the reader sits there wondering what happened to Ben Parish? Did he die? Is he alive? Then in the 2nd part of the book you find out that he's alive and well. Then with Sammy when he gets taken away on the bus, the reader wonders if Sammy is actually being taken to a "safe place" or if he's just going to be killed like all the people in the refugee camp were. The book in reality is a question and answer. You question whether that character is dead or not and then later in the book it answers your question.

Crow planet, Lyanda Haupt, nonfiction, by Lizzie Dagostino
For some people this may be hard to believe but as hard as it is for us to pick a location, material, and furniture for your house it is the same way with the crow! For example, in spring a crow pare will not just build a nest just anywhere they will think thuroughly on the exact location on the tree like if there in a suburban/urban where its busy and may contain many threats such as dogs or kids they will nest higher, or if there in a rural area they may pick a lower branch to easily reach food or easier on their fledglings(young birds ready to learn to fly). When they pick the right spot then its time to build it but it takes a lot more time than many think. Yes crows can be so picky that it can take 20 minutes just to find and pick 1 stick!!! And just like when the husbands turn their backs for a second is when the women take over and "fix" the nest the way they want to, and hope that the husbands don't notice. And that was building a home with crows!
Question #7 fiction- This novel has changed me a lot. Before I had read this book crows to me have always caught my curiosity and I felt that they were shrouded in mystery and a bit odd. However I realized that crows are kind intelligent creatures that are misunderstood and should not be symbolized as a bad symbol like death or bad luck.
Question#6 fiction- If I could ask the author a question I would ask if she changed her mind on crows after writing a book about them because in the beginning of the book she clearly states that crows are not her favorite animal unlike most authors that usually write about why they like whatever the main ideas about.
