Blurr, Steven James (fiction) blog post #3
Kyle begins to wonder if they should go to the graveyard to see Emily's grave, maybe they'll be more clues? The next day Daniel, Mia, Kyle and Nicole all go to the graveyard. When they encounter her grave not far in front of them was Mr. McKinney's wife's grave. At both graves they had the same flowers, coincidence? They eventually go back to Kyle's house and do background checks on Mr. McKinney and his wife's death. Kyle and Daniel feel that McKinney is the murderer and that they should check out his house for some clues. When they got there, there wasn't anything out of the ordinary until they went into his bedroom. Three cells phones covered in girly decorations. McKinney shows up at his house early asking if anyone was there. The two boys sprint out of the house as fast as they possibly can and keep running until they are out of sight. Once everything was settled they got in contact with Emily's brother, he told them one of the phones was Emily's. Later Daniel is encountered with Nicole where she thanks him for the necklace. Although he never got her one, it was the same one Emily was wearing when she died. The principal stopped them and asked for Daniel to follow him. His father and the coaches stood waiting at the gym locker. Inside they found Emily's missing lens. Daniels father asked for Daniel to follow him as the leave the school but Daniel manages to get away because he realized Nicole was missing. He went to the cave where "she" texted him to meet her. Walking through the cave he encounters Emily's killer and Nicole. Although it wasn't Mr. McKinney. The killer and Daniel get into a huge tussle until Daniel ends up getting injured and the killer flies off the edge. Nicole and Daniel were left almost unharmed and returned home safely..
Question #2 "Do the main characters change by the end...."
In a way I think they all changed in some way, kind of grew up more because of everything they encountered. I feel like they realized how easy it is for someone to just die and how short life is so the should live it to the fullest.
Question #5 "Is the ending satisfying? If so why?
I honestly thought it was very satisfying especially since it wasn't a cliff hanger. It ended leaving a message that says that people die, everyone dies so you should just live. It also showed what happened to the main characters after the murderer died before the book ended which was pretty cool.
