So from where i left off we start by them going to the shore and waiting for a merchant who trades there crops and money for useful things for them the islanders.Also they talk about how the richest man on the whole island has a powered sewing machine and his name was jibiki I JJirik.They also traded six months of copra and got a wooden chest of drawers and a ax.They are waiting for Americans will come and save them.But the islanders have never seen an american but they want them to save them from japan.jonjen said that the island people weren't always friendly.He said that they would go attack and raid any vessel ship that was near there water and would kill people.



1)I would say That jonjen and sorry are the main characters in this few chapters because they are talking about the island.Also that they are mainly in this whole book every chapter and i think down the road sorry gonna be a very important.

2)The past from what the islander have said is that they where vicious and very ruthless people.That why the islanders are peaceful now because they don't want to be the in the past and want to have other people help instead of stealing and killing.
