Legend is a very interesting book. It takes place in Los Angeles, California sometime in the future. Day and June are the two main characters who fight against each other through out most of the book. Day is a criminal child who steals from the Republic to support his poor family. June is a daughter of a Republic soldier who patrols the street. June's first mission as a recruit is to hunt down Day and capture him. One problem for the Republic soldiers is that non of them knows what Day looks like.
Question #1: Describe the main characters.
Day is a wanted criminal who escaped the execution of the failed tests of the trial. He is wanted for Assault, Arson, Theft, Destruction of Military Property and Hindering the War Effort. His family thinks he is dead except his older brother. He steals things for his family and gives them to his brother to share with the family.
June is the youngest person to go to college and be training for soldier duty. Her older brother works for the military as a military police officer. She gets hired in as a trainee for her brother's patrol after an accident. Her first missions as a detective is to hunt down Day and capture him
Question #3: Talk about the books structure
The book starts off with Day for a few pages then rotates to June. The book does this throughout the whole story. I think this is a good idea on how to keep the reader updated on what is happening to each person at the time of events.
I can kind of relate your book to mine because in my book a girl might have been murdered and your book is about a criminal child which kind of makes them tie together.
