The Independent Study, By Joelle Charbonneau, Book 2 of the Testing Series

Short Summary: Cia Vale is 17 years old living in a distopion world in the future. Each year kids are chosen from their schools to be apart of The Testing. It is made by the government and only the smartest students are chosen to be in it. It is a huge honor but also very difficult. In book 2 Cia is chosen to do a job she is not prepared for that could get her killed.


Question 1: Describe the character. Cia Vale, the main character, is a strong but deeply emotional person. She often underestimates herself but always works hard. I admire how strong she is emotionally and she comes from a normal family and life. She is a great character.


Question 6: If I could ask the author one question it would be what was her inspiration for the book. Were her characters based of certain people if so who. How would she react if she was put in the same position as her characters.
