When I was the greatest by Jason Reynolds.

In the first few chapters the author explains
The setting and the theme. He also explains the characters
And how they got there nicknames. They live in Brooklyn
There wasn't that much going on in the story just introducing the characters  and the time setting.

2. The central idea is that the author is telling what has happened in the past and he is telling a story.  He is talking about his life and what it was like living in Brooklyn.

4. The author uses all types of language. He uses figurative language. He uses idioms and hyperboles.  Sometimes he over reacts with what he says.
