Ellis island, Pamela reeves, non fiction

So far i have read 31 pages of the book. so far the book is explaining the difficulties of getting into Ellis island and the problems with the ride over from Europe to america. I like the book it has a lot of history about the people who have come through.

question 2. What is the central idea discussed in the book? The central idea of the book is the history of Ellis island and the people that came through. The author talked about how the poor had to ride boats with over priced tickets and bad quality with disease and waste going around the boat.

question 3. Do the issues affect your life? Yes because some people were being sent back to their countries because they did not meet the requirements needed to get into america so if my family was not accepted then my family would still be in germany and i may have not been born.

  1. This sounds like a book that really shows the struggles some people have to face, it sounds interesting and I would like to know more.

  2. I think that it's pretty interesting that with all of the immigrants that came to Ellis Island over a century ago, and that if any of my ancestors, like you said, could have not made it to the US and changed history.
